    SHADOWOOD LAKE INFORMATION

    LAKE DESCRIPTION

    Shadowood Lake is a 90 acre private lake located approx. 5 miles NW of Marshall, Texas in Harrison county. The lake is relatively shallow with a maximum depth of approx. 22ft near the dam with much of the lake less than 8ft deep. Sport fish present in Shadowood Lake include Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Channel and Blue Catfish, Bluegill and Redear Sunfish. Grass Carp have been stocked to control excessive submerged aquatic vegetation with 50 carp stocked in 2014, 150 carp in 2016 and 100 in 2017.  Ongoing  yearly lake water testing has consistently shown Shadowood Lake water quality to be in excellent condition.  

    LAKE USAGE RULES

    1. All watercraft used on the lake must be member owned and be in compliance with all laws for safety equipment.
    2. Members and any guests must wear all required safety equipment and follow Texas boating laws when using the lake.
    3. Members will apply for and properly display a SLC watercraft decal on each owned watercraft as a means of identification for the other members of SLC. If watercraft are sold, destroyed, or given away the member will 1) communicate this to SLC and 2) remove / obliterate the SLC watercraft decal prior to providing to any new owner.
    4. Guests of members, utilizing watercraft on the lake, must be accompanied by an adult SLC member in or on the watercraft.
    5. No glass containers are allowed in or on watercraft.
    6. Watercraft which are towing inflatables or skiers shall travel counter clockwise around the lake.
    7. Any intentional large wake creation / generation by mechanical or artificial means such as, but not limited to, adding weight, using "fat sacks", adding water to boat or any other means to create a large wake is prohibited.
    8. Aggressive or erratic use of watercraft that may be a safety hazard to others; loud music and/or profanity is prohibited.

    FISHING REGULATIONS

    Largemouth Bass:  14 inch maximum; 5 fish per person per day

    Crappie: 10 inch minimum 5 fish per person per day

    Catfish: No size limit no bag limit

    Sunfish (bream): No size limit no bag limit
